The problem started after the world organization of health affirm that they have vaccine of Covid-19, psychologically people to return to their life and they start to buy greedily (like the parched when he find the water), the demand of product raise, the manufactory return to work with few employees (layoffs in Covid-19 time).
The employees in the manufactory work hours to
balance the demand with the offer, but the problem exist when the product
arrive in the port for shipping, the employees in the port are few (layoffs
employees in Covid-19 time) and also the ships, sea barges and container are
few, that influence negatively the product because any product arrive the port,
it must waiting his turn for the shipping, that take more time, and the product
arrive late to the customer.
When the product become few in the market, the
retailers start to increase the product’s price (the demand is high to the
offer), and the crisis start when the raw materials arrive late from china to
manufactory’s others countries, so the company faced to be late in his
production, or it produce few quantities, so automatically the demand will be
low than offer that what seek to increase prices and the crisis in general. As
a quality manager we want to solve this situation.
Solution
Step 1:
Identify the bottleneck
The central problem exist in the port, when the product stop
waiting for shipping, it take long time, and that what influence negatively the
production in others countries. The bottleneck exist in the port, when the
product wait for shipping.
Step 2:
Exploit the bottleneck resource
Actually we need to optimize the situation in which faced in
the port, and looked at this situation as a challenge. We need to exploit the
resource exist in the port as workforces and ships.
Step 3:
Subordinate all non-bottleneck resources to the bottleneck
We
need to improve the bottleneck by use other resources, we will looking for
another resource to ship products, and exploit all workforces and
ships exist in the port, even
though they are non-bottleneck, as like use civil ships for shipping.
Step 4. Elevate bottleneck efficiency and capacity
Management’s goal is to loosen the constraint by:
- Hiring new employees to have shipping’s
operations more strength.
- Although the ship’s
price is very high, we can’t purchase it, so the solution become when we
still used the civil ships for shipping product.
- Establish a strategy
to work, and organize employees in the port to work with high energy and
24H/24H, 7D/7D to improve this situation and we can divided them to many
groups with alternation.
- Persuade the consumers in other countries to decrease their consummation, and consume just the necessary they want, that can decrease the demand of product, will return to the equilibrium.
Step 5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the new bottleneck
We
need actually going back to first step requires management to identify if we
have a new bottleneck, than we pursued the second 2, 3 and 4 even we can solve
the problem.
